Adaptation from the AMERICAN COLLEGE OF NURSE-MIDWIVES
At this time Melinda Hoskins, the owner of Carson Midwifery & APRN Clinic, is pleased to provide Midwifery care in Carson Valley and Northern Nevada communities. She is the only Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) in northern Nevada providing homebirth services. She has been working for years to bring more birthing options to Nevada families. Midwifery care encompasses so much more than birth care.A CNM, since 2004, with a passion for providing family-centered care, Melinda sees care as a partnership between family and provider, which includes mutual respect and communication about concerns and options. This includes providing information about usual care and how it can be varied to meet the desires of the particular family for birth and beyond.

“I became a patient at Carson Midwifery in 2015 during a pregnancy. My midwife, Melinda, provided above excellent care to me during the time I was seeing her. She is always right on time with appointments, she is very professional while also being very compassionate and understanding, I felt very safe and taken care of with her and she went above and beyond to make sure any questions I had were not left unanswered. I now see her for support with my postpartum depression and anxiety. She has been extremely helpful in helping to guide me into finding healthy ways to cope with these things, I always leave her office feeling much better. She is easy to reach when needed, and is very helpful and patient. I definitely recommend her as a midwife, there is no one I would trust myself or children with more!”
